Kit Bailey: Kit began hitting things for fun and profit
at age 11, drumming in bagpipe bands, wind
ensembles, orchestras (including San Luis Obispo
and Santa Barbara Symphonies, and Music in the
Mountains Orchestra), ballet and theatre pit
orchestras, swing and jazz combos, rock and jazz
fusion bands, big bands, and salsa groups, and
playing hand drums for dance classes. Teaching
drumming and proofreading have rounded out his
schedule since he moved to the foothills in 1988. At
Power of 12 gigs he enjoys the mutually reinforcing
interaction between audible rhythmists and visible
gyrators.
Beth Moore:  Pushy for 5'2",  Beth's got a
thing for good lyrics - otherwise, why bother?
Just  another special ed  teacher who can
carry a tune - most nights.  A student once
said she has a "rusty voice."  Works  for that
funky, soulful style.  An activist, Beth plans to
someday sit around writing songs, barefoot,
while grazing in her organic garden.
Patrick C. Poulson:  Patrick has been an active
musician specializing in electric and upright bass
for over thirty years.  He's performed with groups
in his hometown of Santa Barbara, in San
Francisco, San Luis Obispo, and for the past 21
years in Nevada City, CA.  He's played rock,
blues, jazz, reggae, and Top Forty, and enjoys
playing any and all kinds of quality music.  With
Power Of 12  Patrick puts all of his musical
experiences to good use, expressing his creative
inclinations in a wide range of styles.  When not
Paul Trethewey: Computer-literate electrical
engineer by day, sax man by night, Paul writes
the horn section's arrangements by hand,
because they have more soul that way.  An avid
lover of all types of music, he maintains his legit
chops playing in instrumental ensembles, and a
quartet of blatweasels. Hobbies include making
green gelatin dessert, and folding brown paper
bags flat.
Walter Webb: This baritone sax-blaster
blows deep tones on the low end, chirps
flute on the high end, and plays
percussion as much as possible in
between.  Having been a professional
auto mechanic and now a special
education teacher to middle school
children, he really knows how to make
noise in public!
Glenn Smith: Glenn began playing
trumpet professionally in High School in
the Funk / R&B band Farber’s Retreat.
After college, he developed an active
career as a classical freelancer and
trumpet instructor in the Bay Area, until
moving to Nevada City in 1992.  A
dedicated private brass teacher, Glenn
further supports his trumpet habit
practicing Orthopedic Massage and
Radical Therapy style personal counseling
.

Jim Thornton: Jim has been in love with music for
as long as he can remember, and been singing and
playing guitar for probably
way too long.  Born and raised in St Louis,he's
played all kinds of music in all kinds of interesting
situations. He's particularly fond of Santana,
Robben Ford, and any guitarist whose ever played
with Steely Dan. Throw in a heavy dose of Chicago,
Tower Of Power, Blood, Sweat, & Tears (and a lot
more...), and that’s why he’s in Power Of 12: to see
just exactly how much he can get away with
onstage...
John Frantz: John has been
performing music since age 10;
little did he know the musical journey
his trumpet would take him on.
Throughout High School, Junior
College, and CSU Fresno, John has
performed at the Tournament of
Roses, The Montreaux Jazz Festival,
as well as several national and world
Bobby Shew, Ritchie Cole, Lalo Schriffin, Tower of Power, Bill Watrous,
and Dizzy Gillespie, and has played professionally in classical, jazz, and
show ensembles.  A music educator for the past 18 years, John has
helped guide young musicians in elementary, Junior High, and High
music education conferences. He has backed artists and groups such as
School.  This new adventure with Power of 12 is John's first experience
with a Rock/R&B band.
performing with the band he is usually found
working as a piano technician.
Kate Fingerson
Jeff Wax:  Raised in Illinois on Jazz, Blues and
Fusion, Jeff  developed a love for all things
percussive.  After playing drum set, percussion,
turned to African, Latin and Brazillian music,
playing for dance classes and leading
Brazilian drum groups ever since.  Now, folding it
all back into drumset, Jeff is excited to be layin' it
down with Power of 12.
